Situated in Barnsley’s Business and Innovation Centre, Merlinsoft are an unassuming team of developers with a huge capacity for new ideas. Their past successes include bringing the first touchscreen EPOS systems to market, under the brand name ’SuperTouch’ and pioneering an automated module which, both increases take-up and helps save hundreds of hours annually when processing gift-aid claims from both admissions and donated goods.
Despite tough competition, Merlinsoft have strived to achieve a system which can stand up to opponents on all fronts. By continually adding new features and functionalities to their core EPOS product, the Merlinsoft team have laboured to develop an inimitable one-stop shop for the admissions sector. The latest development, Merlin Tickets, introduced a real-time integrated online selling resource for attractions, which has helped reduce queuing times, improve gift-aid uptake and increase visitor spend.
Alastair Baker, director of Bressingham Steam Museum in Norfolk said, “Average spend per transaction has increased by 24% and the data captured from gift aid has been instrumental in our marketing campaigns and helped to increase visitor numbers by 26% since installation”.
Merlinsoft are now looking to the future with their next major upgrade scheduled for February 2018. “With the introduction of seated arenas, Merlin software will be well positioned to empower our customers to manage large functions and exhibitions in-house, whilst appealing to a new key market of event organisers with a holistic management package.”
Speaking about the future, Merlinsoft’s Alex Tinkler also quoted “This is a great opportunity for our company to demonstrate the value of British ingenuity and to return valuable market share away from international heavyweights such as Ticketmaster and Eventbrite. We feel that our approach of personal customer service and continual development will present a welcome change for many of our new customers.”
