Swimming with Dinosaurs. The installation uses three projectors to show photo-realistsic 3D animations, which are projected inside the caverns. The species that are depicted are based on the fossil remains that make up the Chrinoidal Limestone, from which the caves were formed during the Carboniferous period. Seven species of fish are brought back to life, swimming through the underground world for the first time in more than 300 million years, projected onto the walls and into pools of water. Jonathan Wright, the owner of Clearwell Caves, describes the result as "superb; it does everything we wanted it to, creating an amazing spectacle that brings the story to life without impacting the magic of place. The projections are beautifully integrated into the shape and texture of the space. Visitors are consistently amazed by it - the projections into the water are so convincing that it takes a while before people realise they're not real fish and even then they can't figure out how the the effect is created." Reviews on TripAdvisor are similarly impressed, also using words like "amazing" "spectacular" and "beautiful", describing it as a "highlight" of their experience.
